This worldwide resource was created with the enrichment of the greater community in mind - a goal that will be realized with the broadest participation possible.
The template and technolgy used for creating Clinical Data Definitions has been kept as simple as possible to ensure all members of the healthcare community can contribute content to WikiHIT. WikiHIT intends to provide the most comprehensive, insightful and up-to-date information on Clinical Data Definitions. Community input is encouraged for the definition of any number of Clinical Data Definitions, thus providing a comprehensive library of Clinical Data Definitions as a freely available resource to the community.
As the work undertaken on WikiHIT is harmonized with relevent healthcare standards, WikiHIT enables and supports widespread interoperability among healthcare software applications. The coordinated development of open source electronic health record Clinical Data Definitions will actively advance the adoption of electronic health records around the world. WikiHIT is instrumental in this by fostering the development of a standard process for capturing expert knowledge and transforming clinical data sets into open source Clinical Data Defintions to support automatic coding evaluation.
