About WikiHIT
From WikiHIT
WikiHIT is an online healthcare cooperative public and private partnership that benefits from the collaboration of individuals, companies and governmental/private agencies in the development and refinement of healthcare and life science informatics definitions. This worldwide resource was created with the enrichment of the greater community in mind -- a goal that will be realized with the broadest participation possible.
WikiHIT provides the most comprehensive, insightful and up-to-date information on interoperable Clinical Data Definitions available anywhere. Community input is encouraged for the definition of any number of Clinical Data Definitions, thus providing a comprehensive library of Clinical Data Definitions as a freely available resource.
As the work undertaken on WikiHIT is harmonized with relevant healthcare standards, WikiHIT enables and supports widespread interoperability among healthcare software applications. The coordinated development of open source electronic health record archetypes actively advances the adoption of electronic health records around the world. WikiHIT is instrumental in this by fostering the development of a standard process for capturing expert knowledge and transforming clinical data sets into open source Clinical Data Definitions to support automatic coding evaluation.
WikiHIT was launched on 12 December 2006.
